Do not despise small beginnings!

She has arrived! Ms Spring has made her fantastic and beautiful entrance!

It is incredible what impact sunshine has on my soul! I heard the birds agreed with me this morning when I woke up hearing them singing their worship to the creator of the season. For me, nature is such a proof of a creator of the whole Universe. One seed of a flower or a fruit can grow millions of new flowers and fruit trees. One single seed carries the DNA to multiply itself over and over again. For me, this is good news, actually incredible news. Because if God has put so much creativity and beauty and multiplication in the seeds of a snowdrop or an apple, how much of it, is then in us, the people God created in the image of God? If you remember one thing from this blog post, please, remember this:

JESUS LOVES YOU, and He created you with creativity and beauty and ability to multiply your ideas, dream, talents and what you love to do. Just because He is a loving and kind and an awesome God.

This week has been a new start for me, and I wish I could have signed me up for one of these Extreme makeover TV-shows. You know when they come in with a huge crew and bulldozers. They blow out everything, and in an hour and after a few advertising-breaks, everything is brand new, looks fantastic and the new life can begin. I must admit when I dared to be with me and started to think of all the things I needed/wanted to change- it didn’t take long before I was overwhelmed. Then I got angry with myself: Linda, not again…. But after I had had my emotional breakdown and stopped feeling pity for myself, (And quit praying God would send the makeover team) I decided to act but take one thing at a time.

SO, it happened to be the sugar thing. Maybe it was God who gave me the thought and used Dr Caroline Leaf. I follow this inspiring woman on Instagram, and if you haven’t heard of her, get to know her through her books and videos. She is like a dynamite, with so much wisdom and humour in a perfect South African blend. One of her books is called “Eat yourself smart. Love the title and will be my next book to read. She describes the science of the body and the functions of the brain and she backs it up with what the Bible says about our bodies and how important it is to eat right to function properly. The body is an incredible invention. She has with her short, straightforward messages helped me to begin to change my mindset and willingness to fight the sugar. This was the best start in my case, even though this week has been hard and I have been so tired. But I am delighted to say after six days I can say I feel different, my body is befriending me again. Praise God!

Doctors describe sugar addiction as being addicted to cocaine. Horrible fact- but the truth is vital for anyone who wants to have a lifestyle of Heaven.

So no more delicious cupcakes for me then? Today before I started to write this, Dr Caroline Leaf shared her way of looking at food and treats. She goes with 80-20 rule. 80% healthy food and 20% with what she calls cheating food. But she stresses, with that, she doesn’t mean to go wild with the processed and chemical stuff we can find in the shops. NO, Enjoy a home-baked, if you can organic cupcake made by love, or from a nearby bakery. Good hey! Love the thought of the healthy balance, even though I think I have to keep to my at least ten days before I think of my boundaries and come up with healthy rules for me.

Be encourage my dear friend, God is the architect and knows exactly what he is doing. I surely started small this week and by that little me and my small beginning made God rejoice.

I let the Creator of the flowers and the birds and the trees and the Creator of you have the last word.
This is huge when you think of it. I’m sure God will use this scripture to speak to you too.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
